Information About the Flu

Health Net cares about the well-being of its members, and we are taking steps to help ensure they have access to Tamiflu® and Relenza®, the two medications that can treat the swine flu, also referred to as H1N1.

Health Net has suspended limitations to the medications so that members who have been treated for seasonal flu in the recent past will be able to access the two medications in the future, if needed.

In addition, we have posted information about the flu on the home page of our web site, www.healthnet.com, to provide visitors with helpful information about symptoms and treatment, as well as how to access the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's authoritative site dedicated to providing the latest information about the swine flu outbreak.

We also are communicating with our contracting providers, and we are updating our business continuity plans to be prepared in the event this outbreak has a major impact in the United States.

In short, Health Net is monitoring the situation carefully, and we are being responsive to your needs, as well as those of all our members, by helping ensure there are no barriers to Tamiflu and Relenza.
